Report: US companies want to covertly trade with Russia via Turkey

MOSCOW, Aug 30 (PRIME) -- U.S. companies that left Russia due to the situation in Ukraine are looking for a way to covertly trade with Russia through Turkey, the Yeni Safak newspaper reported on Tuesday citing sources in Turkish business circles.

“Many American companies that want to circumvent sanctions imposed by the West against Russia are offering Turkish companies to do joint business in exchange for a certain commission,” the newspaper reported.

“Many international companies headquartered in the U.S. have mobilized their subsidiaries established in Dubai free zones for this business,” Yeni Safak reported.

The newspaper specified that the main goods the U.S. companies want to buy from Russia are petrochemicals, mineral fuels, precious metals and stones, grain, iron and steel, fertilizers and inorganic chemicals, water products and alcoholic beverages.
